Clean-room assembly and structural bonding: completing complex components
PROCESS
Structural multilayer assembly process
Clean-room assembly is the stage that completes laminated or multilayer components and components with integrated elements, connectors, inserts, frames or seals.
The contamination-controlled environment prevents dust and particles from entering the assembly. If trapped between layers or brought into contact with the optical surface, these contaminants would irreversibly impair the visual quality of the finished component.
TECHNOLOGY
LIRAS technology
Available joining techniques include solvent-based adhesive bonding, UV adhesive bonding and structural bonding. The choice depends on the materials involved, the mechanical strength required from the joint and compatibility with existing or planned surface treatments.
Structural bonding delivers reliable performance even in applications subject to vibration, temperature fluctuations and continuous dynamic loads.
