LIRAS Optical is the LIRAS Group division specializing in engineered polycarbonate and PMMA transparent components

Design, forming, machining, surface treatment, autoclave lamination, assembly and testing are all carried out at the Schio facility - a fully integrated production cycle rarely found among European manufacturers of engineered transparent components.

LIRAS Optical serves vehicle manufacturers, motorsport teams, OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, shipyards and vehicle converters requiring components developed from drawings, samples or technical specifications, with a focus on optical quality, process traceability and compliance with project-specific technical requirements.

The facility has recently expanded its manufacturing capacity with a new production building dedicated to large-format machining, supporting the growth of the Optical division and its target markets.

Our Approach

The process begins with a technical analysis of the request: geometry, material, industry, operating conditions and functional specifications. This assessment determines technical feasibility and, when required, leads to a co-design phase in which LIRAS Optical works with the customer to define the component - from material and process to treatment and tolerances.

Production is carried out entirely in-house, with component sampling, inspection and approval before serial production begins. Every order is accompanied by a manufacturing route card recording materials, process parameters and inspection results at each stage.

The delivery documentation includes the component's operating and maintenance instructions.
