Custom-Designed Transparent Components
When the required transparent component does not correspond to a standard solution, LIRAS Optical develops the project from the information or reference available from the customer: a 2D or 3D technical drawing, a physical sample, a technical specification or an existing component to be replicated.
Every request undergoes a preliminary feasibility assessment to define the most suitable material, the appropriate manufacturing process and the most effective technical configuration for the application.
FEATURES
Development methods
LIRAS Optical develops custom components using the following methods.
- From a technical drawing: the customer provides a 2D or 3D drawing of the component. LIRAS Optical assesses its feasibility, recommends the most suitable material and process, and develops the finished component in accordance with the required specifications.
- From a sample: the customer provides an existing physical component. LIRAS Optical measures it, analyzes its geometry, material and construction, and proceeds to replicate the component.
- From a technical specification: the customer provides the component's functional requirements, such as dimensions, weight, light transmittance, strength or required performance. LIRAS Optical identifies the most suitable technical solution and develops the component to meet the application's performance targets.
- Reverse engineering: When a component is available but lacks technical documentation, LIRAS Optical performs dimensional measurements—including 3D scanning when necessary—reconstructs the design, and initiates the development and production process.
