Laminated polycarbonate and PMMA transparent components
Laminated transparent components in polycarbonate or PMMA are engineered parts comprising two or more layers of transparent material bonded through autoclave lamination. They are developed for applications in which performance requirements cannot be achieved with a single monolithic layer or functional elements must be integrated between layers.
Lamination is the appropriate configuration when a project requires greater mechanical strength than a single layer can provide, integrated micro-wire heating systems for active demisting and defrosting, multilayer configurations with specified light transmittance, or components subject to continuous structural loads, such as aircraft windshields or glazing for emergency vehicles.
FEATURES
Available materials and configurations
Laminated transparent components are developed for the following industries and performance requirements.
- Automotive and motorsport: laminated windshields can integrate embedded micro-wire heating or functional interlayers.
- Aerospace: laminated canopies and windshields maintain structural integrity in the event of impact.
- Special vehicles: windshields and glazing are manufactured in multilayer configurations with application-specific functional treatments.
- Marine: laminated components are developed for yachts and premium vessels requiring enhanced strength and aesthetic integration with the vessel structure.
Components are available in polycarbonate or PMMA, in two-layer or multilayer configurations with an interlayer, and can integrate technical features such as micro-wire heating and structural reinforcement, based on the customer's drawing or technical specification.
