Autoclave lamination and micro-wire integration: high-performance multilayer components
PROCESS
Structural multilayer assembly process
Lamination bonds multiple layers of transparent material into a structurally integrated monolithic component, increasing mechanical strength and rigidity while preserving optical quality. The process is used for components that must meet performance requirements unattainable with a single layer.
TECHNOLOGY
LIRAS technology
LIRAS Optical performs autoclave lamination under controlled pressure and temperature, ensuring uniform adhesion between layers, freedom from bubbles and delamination, and long-term stability.
Tungsten filaments are positioned precisely between the layers before the component is processed in the autoclave. The finished laminated component incorporates the heating system with no additional visible elements and with electrical connections integrated into the structure.
Multilayer configurations can combine polycarbonate, PMMA and functional interlayers according to specification, optimizing the balance between mechanical strength, weight, thickness and optical performance.
